Saa seishun wa keizokuchuu
Koukai shitakunai

Ryoushin ni kansha suru yo my way

English

I straighten my hair in the morning
And devote my life to keeping my skin pale*
I want to get a different manicure soon
Cheaply, if possible

Girls’ school catwalk

On the train I’m mature
But when I get into the classroom I’m noisy
By second period I’m hungry
By fourth period I wanna go home

Girls’ school catwalk

Between getting my heart broken
And maintaining my friendships
I’m busy

C’mon, youth continues
I don’t wanna have any regreat
And I won’t cut corners
Yeah, nobody knows what the road ahead will bring
That’s what makes it interesting
That’s what I think
When I get old
I’ll brag to my grandchildren about my way

In the afternoon I check my makeup
And call my friend who I’m walking home with
We’re going to grab dinner on the way home
I can’t wait, it’ll be so much fun

Girls’ school catwalk

I end up having a huge portion of chips
There’s no point in going calorie-free
Then we stop off at the convenience store
For dessert

Girls’ school catwalk

The exams are getting closer
And I don’t know what to do with my life
Reality’s so tough

C’mon, youth continues
Our dreams change
In so many ways
Yeah, there’s no GPS for this road
So we
Get lost
But on the night I get engaged
I’ll thank my parents for my way

C’mon, youth continues
Our dreams change
In so many ways
Yeah, there’s no GPS for this road
So we
Get lost
But on the night I get engaged
I’ll thank my parents for my way

*Japan’s the reverse of the West on this – while Western cultures are all about tans, the Japanese prize pale skin. There was a whole manga series, Peach Girl, about a girl who is unpopular because she has a dark tan. She got it from swimming outside a lot, but her classmates assume that she fake bakes and call her a skank.
